2026 Residency Program
Los Angeles, CA
Trans musicians have been integral to the development and popularization of the synthesizer as an instrument, from Wendy Carlos onwards. Recognizing this history, we’re excited to offer this program providing studio time and recording space to trans musicians who make music with classic analog synthesizers. We hope this opportunity can support the completion of a recorded album or body of work.
For two weekends in May of 2026, we hosted a recording residency program with the Vintage Synthesizer Museum in Los Angeles, CA. The final residents Brown Angel and Folie received 3 days of recording with access to one of the most comprehensive vintage synthesizer collection in the country. Trans Music Archive also awarded each resident with an additional $1000 stipend in an effort to make the residency as accessible to everyone.
This residency was made possible by the generosity of our donors. If you would like to support programs like this please consider make a tax-deductible donation.
